New Shop and New Pipes (Pics and Video)

My brother and I just got settled into our new shop and finished up our newest set of pipes. We have had lots of feedback on these and are considering making more pipes for interested members. Hopefully we can get a few more styles out too now that we have the proper facilities.

Initially when I got the bike I did the hole saw mod to get some extra growl out of the pipes. Since I was away from home without a shop, that was all I could do originally. After riding for a few months I was not a fan of the sound. At idle the pipes sounded okay, but they sounded like crap at speed. Since I wasn't able to make my own pipes I decided to buy a set of Vance & Hines short shots. They sounded great and kept me content until I got back to my tools. They looked good, but they didn't have the custom look that I wanted. I designed these pipes and fabbed them up. We have been making some custom sets for friends on the side but thought you guys might like these as well. Sorry it took so long. I haven't been able to get on the site for a while but here is the video with sound. Crank it up and enjoy.

well i can tell you there BOON that you & your brother did a great job on those pipes. those look just like a set that Oomp would make. do you some searching on the site & google & you will be able to see pics of his other sets. go into my gallery & look at my SS. i had 2 different sets of them myself.

did you build a power cone into those, you will need something just to add some back pressure. in all though they look really good....

now FUCK OFF, welcome & keep up the good work.

Pipes look great! Nice job.

Bike looks good too....like the color and see you lowered the ass end and put on some forward controls.

Looks like you may need to work on your idling circuit. I bet a more open air intake and a stage 3 jetting would really enhance the sound of your pipes. Overall, nice work.

Now fuck off and wlcome and good luck on your business venture with the pipes. Take Woody's advice about the oomps and I am sure you'll sell a bunch.

Thanks for the comments guys. We use torque cones on all the pipes to correct back pressure. I've checked out some of oomps stuff. He made some pretty cool pipes. I don't see anything we couldn't build as well. Hopefully we can bring our own style into it.

My idle is a bit off right now. It ran fine with these pipes at lower elevation but now that I'm back up in Colorado I think I may need to rejet to get it to run right.

We make them out of 16 gauge 304 Stainless Steel. As of right now we are just making them for the Shadow Spirit because that is what I have to mock up on. Hopefully we can get access to other models and make pipes for them as well. As for now though we are just doing the Shadow.

I'd be interested in some sways for mt vlx as well. If you guys get em going send me a pm. Same goes to you BE if you decided to get adventurous. We can work something out cost wise if making a couple sets would cut down on some costs.

i really think that Sway could have a good product here. the lines on the set in the pic looks good, you can really even see his welds at all which is a serious plus if you plant to hot jet or chrome them. just cut some angles on them & throw in show different styles.
