Generally either a performance tuned engine or a cheap replacement for old worn out stock equipment.

So if your coils are brand new swapping them out on a stock engine won't do much of anything. If your coils are 10+ years old swapping them out will feel like you've unleashed the kraken.

The Honda Goldwing GL1100 as well.
It has both mechanical and vacuum advance.

Probably the best solution is to rid the secondary of as much resistance as possible.
Careful though, ...the primary side could be at risk if not still allowed some protection via ballasting. Frying triggers (points or electronic) is not the goal.

Allowing more voltage potential means allowing a larger gap at the plug.

Many variables play into this but some fairly inexpensive routes for a "hot" ignition are within everyone's reach.

Optimizing a ignition has enormous bang-for-the-buck spent.
