No shit, Great write up!!! Well, got excited reading it, that I went an ordered a CBR 900rr whl, new chain, and sprockets for front and back. i think the only thing that would be tricky, like you mentioned, would be the rear caliper mount. but nothin to it, but to do it!!! I hope it goes as smooth as yours went!!! Thanks again.

the brake stay bracket won't be that hard if you have a machine shop around. tell them you need a piece of 1in bar stock 6061 aluminum. have them cut it 4in long. then down the center machine out a channel 1/2in wide and 3/4in deep. that should be the exact width and depth on the end of the brake stay. also have them drill and counter sink 2 holes in it so you can mount it to the frame.

now there is a ridge that runs down the brake stay on the flat outer part of the surface when you look at it. you will need to take a small angle grinder with a sanding disk on it to remove this from the stay. reason being it will bind up on bracket you had made when you try to move the tire forward & backwards.

oh i also forgot. when you have this piece machined out; on the back end of it, have the channel walls cut down

i have tried to draw out to picks of what it should look like, sorry don't have autocad...lol wish i did. but you will see the top pick is the side view. the dotted line represents where the bottom of the channel would be.

the second pic is looking at it from the top. the yellow portion would be looking down into the channel. the black dots is where you should put the holes.

i hope this helps you out even more. i'll try and get some pics of mine and post them up. if you have anymore questions, send me a pm with you number and i'll give you a call. btw, where in texas are you. i'm at fort hood in killeen.

One more question about the cbr swap, don't mean to be a pest but i'm just trying to make sure everything is in order.Ok , along with the wheels my friend gave me.I also have the whole rear brake setup from his bike.My question is can i use it instead of the 900? i'm just trying to stop from sending money if i don't have to.

up SHIT creek!! i thought prepared for everything, but forgot the size of the axle and spacers. tryn to get done by friday night for saturday. 600 axle shaft is 16mm in thickness. i knew you guys were usen the 750 axles, but kinda hoped my axle as well was universal. the local motorcycle salvage place is small, but has a lota hondas bikes. they dont have any 750's 90's n up or sport bikes in the size of 900, 929, or 1000s. did i miss any other option besides ordering an OEM and waiting 2-3weeks.

if you ordered the 900 rim, the axle should be the same size for it as the shadow rim, at least on mine it is; and where the hell you ordering from that is gonna take 2-3 weeks. also you are gonna want the factory cbr spacers. this is what i used, that way you will only need the 2 washers for shims.
