no need to search MC Im simply speeking from experience and not read knowledge. I dont care the fact that next to my forum ID it says noob you think that that means Im a rookie absolutley not. I just happen to be new to this forum since I just bought my shadow for the first time. I'd venture to say that my 17 years of experience will allow me to give any fellow engine builder a run for there money or the ability to teach then something.

So instead of insighting an argument I was only looking for experience with this mod when I posted not looking for a bible on what engine power in theory should work cause theory is theory and experience always proves better (which I have).

Either way folks...this shit got way to heated and intellectual for my pot-smokin self. Either it works or it doesn't, and if ya wanna do it, go for it. If not, or if you think it's worthless, then shut the fuck up and don't do it to your bike. Aint no sense in talkin all this smack over a freakin bike mod. I may not have been at this site too long, but it seems that recently some folks have been "challenging" others on knowledge, experience, etc....I think it's kinda stupid. If you really wanna argue that bad with someone, yall should take it to PMs or email. There's really no need to air your shit all over the net for folks to see how petty grown folks can really be.

I originally asked for Mcvierh to point me to this write up because I couldn't find it, and he did just that. Because that's the great guy he is. Then Dirt made it a sticky, because it was a good write up and he's also a great guy. If you don't want people taking shots at your obviously fragile ego, then don't stroke the damn thing in front of everybody. Just read, ask constructive questions, form your own opinion of what you've read, and leave it at that. You started off on the right path, but then you had to go and throw in that last sentence. You said it yourself, you build hot rod engines (NOT BIKE ENGINES). Take his advice or don't, that's your choice. But, don't get all emotional when folks get aggravated because you go tootin' your own horn. In my opinion; if you were such a hot shit engine builder, then you wouldn't have to tell anyone. You'd be doing the mod yourself, performing tests, and giving useful feedback. Or you would choose not to do the mod, and just shut the fuck up.

Fact is Blacksheep that the bike you bought was orginialy built and shipped to the US with built in limitations and drawbacks that were purposely set at the factory so that it could be imported to the U.S. in order to meet Federal/EPA/DOT standards and guidelines.
1) The jetting is set lean so that emissions standards can be met.
2) There is a tamper cap factory installed that allows the A/F to be adjusted, it is against Federal law to remove that cap and tamper with the A/F mixture.
3) The dwell is purposly retarded to further help meet Federal air quality standards impossed by the EPA.
With that said, yeah that upper post came from tech tuning, why, because it gives the imformation and the formula to back up just why advancing the timing within parameters does not cause the mixture to burn hotter due to a firing of the mix 4* earlier than the factory setting.
And as you yourself stated "experience proves" ....the answer again is that your bike will not run hotter. It will run better.

The first time I'd read one of your replies to a post, I'm saying to myself "Hummm?", The next reply , I'm saying "What the fuck?", Now I'm saying to myself..."This is one strange fucking creature."
