Just to clarify: 1mm = .040" so 200mm X .040 = 8.00 inches This is the cross section tread width.

If the size is (example) 195/70R15 then you read it as:
195:mm across contact patch
70: % of 195. This is called aspect ratio
R: Radial
15: Wheel size

Hey, you guys that have done the VTX mod. What size tube did you use? I got my rim and tire in, but forgot about the tube. Will the factory one work or do I need a specific size?
Thanks,
Mean!!!

I was told you can use the same tube but I think I would just get a new one for the vtx.

The thing is that the VTX 1800S didn't come out with a 200 tire.
I talked to Blaine from swmototires and he said we need the bridgestone in a 170 size or larger which has the curved PV78 valve stem. He didn't know what tubes are bikes came with factory so I guess if their 170's they should work. I'll find out when I change tires . I do plan on putting a new tube in, but was not sure what size.

Later, Mean!

Fist of all, hope all is well with you. I have searched other sites researching this issue. I also sent an email to moore as I think he did the mod. He has not replied yet. If you have all the parts and do the mod with the original inner tube, post your results.

I ordered my parts but have not gotten them. I was thinking of doing the relace myself, but found someone who is willing to do the complete mod for about 100.00

Maybe I missed something but will the VTX Mag wheel work also or is there a problem with the shaft drive line...

Moore has a solid rim on the back. No need for a tube now.

The VTX mod is for the 750 SS's. Some of the 1800's came out with a 52 spoke wheel, which is what the 750's came out with, but the VTX rim is wider than our factory 750 rims which allow us to run a wider tire. We just take a VTX rim and relace it onto our hubs.
As far as a mag wheel working on your bike, I have not a clue. Sorry!
