Harley Swap for dummies

STEP 1:

Acquire the following
Axle
2 spacers (left- 1.860" right- 1.500") these measurements worked for me. Can't promise they'll work for you, but it's a starting point, eh?
18 x 5.5 wheel + tire of choice
sprocket
sprocket spacer- 9/16" I think
5 bolts for the sprocket

If you want a brake, go ask someone else for that info. I didn't do it, and have no clue what's involved.

Step 2:

Bolt all the big shit together:

Step 3:

Make sure your axle is long enough

Step 4:

Break time

Step 5:

Gather the rest of your stuff

Step 6:

Put the rest of it together

Step 7:

Button up the rest of what you took apart, take some pics, and tell yourself how awesome you are for FINALLY having the balls to do this painfully simple mod

Thanks man. Had the backside apart this eve and decided to show how easy this really was.

Granted, there's no rear brake, but this gets the no0bs headed in the right direction.

Brake info:

Caliper from a sporters or dyna (ebay about 50-150)
11.5" mesh harley rotor (ebay about 40 bucks)
Steel braided brake line (ebay there's a guy who custom makes em for 21 bucks) Measure this for your needs, I used 24" with a 3/8" 45 degree fitting on one side and a 10mm straight fitting on the other side.
master cylinder and brake reservoir. Most folks pic one up off ebay off a CBR 600 or 900 RR.
Brake bolts that will fit whatever spacer and rotor you're using.
Brake stay, you'll need to make this or have someone do it for you.
a mount of your master cylinder and reservior, this depends on where you mount it. I've heard folks just stuffing it in the right side tool box cover, that's what I'm doing.

Yeah HD prices are retarded. Youre honestly the first person Ive seen here trying to fight a Harley. Theres very little ground covered in this forum on that but Im sure theres a few people here with HD experience that could help. GSF1200RRandy went to school for Harleys...but you didnt hear that from me.
