In a really nasty Oklahoma sidewind, I'll get a bit of a hesitation sometimes, but it was literally a 50 mph sidewind, and I was doing 75-80...had to basically lean like trying to turn, but was still going straight...that was a miserable fuckin ride

So saturday night I tore the carbs out, installed 130/132 jets. put it all back together. stoked to have it start and run lol. But seriously its falling flat at higher rpms and is horible just before the rev limiter.
Going to try going bigger on the jets. Why exactly are there two different jet sizes for front and rear carbs? what to say i shouldnt run 134 134?
Did i mention i put the pods on too...yeah i did.

Sorry for the triple post but i feel its all good cause ive been in the middle of this mod for a few days.

Started with a 130/132 main jet, it ran ok but flat on top end.
Then went to a 132/134 and it ran like shit, i didnt even leave the neighborhood
3rd time went with a 128/130 and bingo, thing ran like a champ.

Not saying i dont want to still tinker with the needle but wot its all good and have no complaints just know i can possibly have it a bit better with raising the needle.
Its pulls harder and I can hear air sucking into the engine like crazy. Unless you hate the stock air box, this is the intake to do. I have 2days and well under 100 bucks in it and have physical proof my bike is pulling harder. I ride a lot with a vstar 650. With just a hole saw mod the 650 killed me. Gear change and 4* timing, i was starting to pull him slightly but still very similiar. Now i can pull on him pretty easily. His isnt a stock 650 at all either, hence why he was killing me at first. I also feel i may be able to get a little bit more with getting into the mid range needle settings

Also on the right side of purple hazes bike youll notice a tube that has nothing connected to it, just next to the pod...one I'm willing to bet a filter would be a great idea and second DONT KINK THE LINE, its your oil vent. If you kink it while installing your carbs you will over pressurize your crank case and your exhaust will shit oil smoke out...i know. Luckily I have my honda tool set and some extras with me in the ammo case. Pulled the tank off on the side of the road...fun...not.

I've since removed the stock airbox.

All ya gotta do is get a left rear jug cover, take a hacksaw and cut a square in the same pattern as the stock front right one for the exhaust, and slap that puppy on. VOILA...no more airbox, making the cylinders look legit.

I'd post a pic, but can't do that from work...

anymore long term test results?? i like my filter the way it is, but i'm considering this to make the bike more narrow.
