I'm about to send TJ my carbs for a rebuild. Can you adjust those long screws without taking the airbox off? I'm sticking with stock intake system.
I think you are supposed to be able to. TJ may be able to tell you by model if you can since some airboxes may block the carbs more. Once my stacks are on and the airbox is gone I am sure it will make it easier for me.
Carbs off today and torn apart. Cleaning tomorrow and going to reinstall the factory needles with 2 shims, 45 slows and 145 mains. Need new float bowl gaskets and going on also order SS screws for the float bowl and slide cover and some short choke knobs for each carb to clean things up. Going to go with one throttle cable which has been rerouted along with moving the wire loom around. Fin mod delayed due to Ordering the wrong side of the rear fin. Will also install some hardcore baffles in my Mortons Creeper pipes. Maybe i can pass the German inspections in March without having to install the stock exhaust for the inspection.
The rattle can paint job on the diaphragm covers dried and I was able to put those back on. Gaskets and intake collectors ordered so I should be able to get these back on the bike and see how she idles and make a quick run down the street by the time I get back from Estonia on 29 February.
