So what do I do with the 3rd wire ? Wrap it in tape ? Connect it to a bolt or the frame ? Electrical is a weak area for me .

Seeing it was a ground for mine, I just put an end on it and grounded it to the frame. I'm sure taping it and tucking it out of the way would be fine as well.

mine should be arriving monday or tuesday. Any tips or suggestions for the installation?
Can it be done without removing the fender?

i removed the fender; i imagine you could do it w/o removal, but it seemed like it would be a pain in the ass. i had to use the second wiring method to make it work. read all the directions (two paragraphs, i think) before you start and you will know what i'm talking about. definitely a good mod, changes the look of the whole ass end.

I took my fender off when I added the Billski as well. It will make the installation a lot easier.
Just be careful not to scratch the fender when you are taking it off and putting it back on. An extra set of hands is always helpful, and it's easier to take the fender off by allowing it to 'drop' and sliding it out below the struts. You have a better chance of scratching or damaging it by pulling it out the top.

Just got mine installed last night. Kinda a pain, didn't have the right bolts for the bracket, so I jsut kyped a few of the screws from the lic. plate on the stock assembly.
Does anyone know, can I fit an aftermarket lic. plate frame on with this mod? It seems a littl e tight up underneath the light.

FYI, if you want the slammed look, or want to drop your rear a lot, don't go with the billski. You need a lot more clearance under the fender with it. A side mount is better if you want to drop it. I may be going that route and selling my Billski.

You can use the Billski mod if you are going with a hard tail approach for the bike. I know because of a guy I know had this done, it looked pretty sweet, but rough ride.
