That's pretty much the same method I used to shorten my stalks. I pulled the stalk out of the the "chrome" and cut it to fit flush with the end of the housing. Reinstalled modified stalk (to add some strength to the plastic) in each housing. Then I used 3" lamp nipples (hardware store) to route the wires. Two nuts and a washer with blue Loctite on each end to hold it together. Silicone caulk around the wiring in the end of the nips to seal 'em up. Rolliin'. Total cost roughly $5.

I didn't know where to post this but I found this website that might come into use for tire/speedo questions. http://www.discounttire.com/dtcs/infoTireMath.dos

Nice site indeed not much of a photo gallery but the 3 chops they have in there are sweet. Good gas tank stretch write up as well. Should be copied and pasted and sticky'd in the spirit mod section on this forum.

OK, I'm pretty new to the whole "custom bike thing" but even I know that there ain't much difference between the Spirit and the ACE. Same engine, frame, carb sizes . . . it's not too hard to figure out, guy.
