As I have already posted in a brake squeal question, it is time to officially say hello here.
I have many bikes currently (understatement of the year) and the vast majority of them started out as non-running basket cases.
I built my first motorcycle engine when I was 14 YO as I wanted to ride the darn thing.
In the past 12-15 months I have made 5 bikes two of which were frame-offs.
I currently have a few projects on the burners including a '73 Z1A that is a frame-off, an '06 Sprint ST that was wrecked and now wears Hyabusa forks, TL triple trees, and a GSXR 750 front fender,
with the most current project being a YZ400FK back from th dead that is apparently sold already like it or not. (He was by last night begging to take it next week.)
I have a few more than just one clue w hen it comes to working on bikes as I am currently older than dirt and even remember when it was CLEAN!
I will check-in from time to time and if I can help someone out, I will.
If there is any interest, I will post some Before and After pic's of some of my projects if someone would be kind enough to show me where to post them.
I am not sure how to post them in MY photo gallery.

Eric

Hey ya'll. Just hitting up the rulez and saying HI. I just bought a VLX 600 and before I could even take her from 37000Km to 37100Km I "accidently" tripped and brought a grinding wheel down on the frame, chopped the back end off, took off the pipes and cut those. Freaked out because the back pipe looked like a different size to the front one but quickly realized the inner pipe story.

So yes. I'm not a mechanic or anything of the sorts. I'm a school teacher who is now officially shitting himself with roughly $3200.00 of chopped up bike sitting on his garage floor. But sh*# on me it is fun!

Just hope I can find out where everything is supposed to go back ;)

Don't put it back, that's the point :)

Welcome, and kindly fuck off!

BTW, in the wiring diagram thread, there is a link to wiring diagrams in the two posts above yours. If BaldEagle sees this, he has a diagram as well I believe. Not sure if he has the chopped one, but probably. He is one of the VLX experts on here, and builds VLX choppers/bobbers as a side business.

Look for him here: https://www.facebook.com/BaldEagleCustoms

and here: http://www.baldeaglecustoms.com/.

how the fuck do you accidentally trip & chop the damn frame in half. you would of had to sit on the frame for a hot damn minute to cut it in half. its not like the frame is made of butter.....

and another thing, how the hell you gonna have a name of Eskimo & live in fucking Africa...

I was walking across the shop with an air grinder once, caught the damn air hose with my left ankle sent me flying into my Jeep.

By the time i got un tangled all of my door hinges had been cut

You gotta be careful with power tools,

Its surprising they only have eye protection warnings,

Should say "DO NOT EVEN PICK THIS FUCKER UP!"
