Clutch Cable Adjustment Help

Need help with my clutch cable adjustment. Installed the new clutches but now I can't seem to get the tranny to disengage with the clutch in and do not have any more cable adjustment left. Either 1) the original clutch cable has stretched over the last 11 years and 43,000+ miles, 2) I screwed up with the clutch install, or 3) I don't know how to adjust the cable.

The installation of the new clutches seemed to go fine until during reassembly when I broke the clutch lever spring. Couldn't get the cable to return so figured that I need more tension on the clutch lever so, I pulled the cover off again and gave the lever another turn and snapped the retaining clip off the end of the spring. Replace that and now it seems to be another issue.
