So how much total rise do you have now with the new bars and risers that the aero cables worked? I'm fixing to get 12" apes on my 1.5" risers. Don't have the bars yet, so I cant measure what length cables I need unfortunately

I was able to get about 14" rise from the fork with the Aero cables. I did same thing with 12" harley bars and 1 1/2" risers works perfect with a little modding...the clutch is right length for gas. I had to wrap the cable in "reverse" on the carb to take up xtra slack (if that makes sense)

This may not help you at all, but I just put apes on my '07. I feel your pain on getting some mixed feedback on what exactly will work. Went through the same thing and just got frustrated and ordered the bars I wanted and measured to order cables. I went down to 2" risers, got 14" apes, and that equaled +9" on the clutch cable,+7" on the throttle cables, and +6" on the brake line. You could probably get away with an inch or maybe two shorter on the brake line and about an inch shorter on the clutch, but I went the $300 route and didn't want to be short and have to eat the cost. I have some pictures of my bike in my gallery that you can look at to get an idea of what kind of slack I had. I plan on making a thread, but I'm at work for another week and we can't get on photobucket. And another thing that may or may not be useful...when I was trying to get info, I read a few things that said that I would be able to use stock cables with 10" apes and shorter risers on a Spirit....no dice for me. So....I figured if I was gonna have to buy new cables anyways, I was going with 14's so my hands would be at least level with my shoulders. (Went with 12's first and they were just below) My wife is a very patient and understanding woman. 3 sets of bars in two months!!!
