Bike dies after short ride
I've recently started having a problem with the bike dying after starting up and riding a half mile or so. The problem came out of nowhere and the thing had been running kind of rough so on the advice of a couple of acquaintances I rejetted . Now it starts right up and runs like a bat out of hell. Then about 6-8 blocks from home, it starts running rough and dies, starts out like it's running on one cylinder then if I give it gas, it dies. If I donn't give it gas it , it'll eventually die anyway. It would take a little bit to get it going, would have to puul the choke, but then it runs great again.
This past weekend, it would ride ok for another few blocks, die again and would take several tries and a few minutes to get started. Finally after 10 minutes of trying and letting it sit for another 45 I had to leave it overnight. Went back the next morning with a truck to bring it home and it started right up.
Any ideas? It's a 2003 Spirit 750. Can't recall the jet sizes I switched to but, they were the smallest in the kit, I want to say 110 & 115. Only mods are Vance & Hines straight shots.
