Cobra Swept Pipes on 13

well sum dum fuk decided to tbone me back at the end of january and total out my '10
So after some healing (mostly soft tissue damage to the leg between the bike and car), allstate has purchased for the most part a brand new '13 for me.

The issue is that the bike in question has the same pipes the last did, at at a whopping 390 miles, the rear head cover has actually melted in a spot and dripped on the top of the pipe

The longest ride since the first time it had gas put in it was 30mi....

The clearances are no different than the last bike, pipes installed by Honda shop, the only difference is that this one has the black out engine not the silver.

Anyone else have this issue, know the cause, and or ways to mitigate it once they replace the head cover?

Glass wrap under the heat shield?

The pipes draw dangerously close to the plastics in several other places, and not so much as a blip

Hoda shop is saying that they will take the pipe off, wrap the end in black glass wrap and seal it off with a stainless clamp, then swap it out for another cover / warranty the damage.

Has anyone else ever seen anything like this, and or had to do this, my '13 had 10k Mi and did not have this isuse, ame part number on the cover, same part number on the pipes...

strange.... I wouldn't think that distance would cause any issues.

Yeah, no flashing across the surfaces surrounding it, no indication of an exhaust leak or some other obvious cause of finely directed heat, damn, did not even cook off the pollen...

The flange and first 3" of pipe are blued though, front one still shiny chrome, but I am not certain if the temperature difference on those parts is out of line.

But I am certain at 400mi nothing should be melting into drippy puddles

Bike runs like a raped ape, and I always run premium in it, so unless the EFI is simply different in that year model and the last, i would think all the key factory there would be completely the same...

Weird no doubt.

unless your rear cylinder is running leaner / hotter than the front. Dont know too much about the EFI machines. Interesting that the rear pipe is blue though which is an obvious sign of heat
