I was thinking about adding this to my offseason work. Have you used these kits before, and what part numbers did you use for the VLX?

I have used it on the VLX. On my personal ride when I had the large headlight bucket I hid the ballast in the bucket. The stock bucket is not big enough to do that so on some of the builds I have done I generally remove the evaporation chamber when I remove all the other stock air box and mount the ballast right in the V of the neck where that chamber was located.

I don't have a part #, but I have generally gone with the 55W and then it just depends on how "blue" you want the light. I think I have usually gone with 6000K. This is a pretty pure light an no so crazy blue.

Thinking about it now I'm building a bike that I think I may order a 12000K for...here are the wheels;

The guys last name is "Royal," I'm stuck on calling this bike "Royal Blue" but just don't know if that is creative enough.

Those wheels look even better in person!!!

Yeah thats Blue alright!

How about Royal Order, or Rollin Royal, Royal roller.

without my airbox, I'm sure i can find a place for this mod. Worst case scenario, i get a new headlight. Only problem is i was really thinking and scheming on how i could put in a double headlight without it looking crammed. My idea is 2 VLX headlights side by side.

Think i may have to work that out along with getting the HID into them.

I got a 35W Low beam kit sitting in my garage since last year. Got my hands on it but have been putting off installation. Think I may want a hi/low kit. Also I have heard issues of them dying. And problems with when the bike starts and the headlight is shut off/on.

i wired the wifes to the tail light circuit instead of the head ligh via relay so once u turn the key on the ballast is powered and does not do the quick on of wen u hit the start button.. no issues yet hers is the xenon low beam with a halogen high beam.. mine is the byxenon wich means its hid light both high and low butit ddoesn't get briter it just changes the position of the bulb wen u hit high beam to project light further.. haven't got it on yet to know if it was worth the extra bucks.

Nope, still no issues.

Just found another product today that I am going to look into that is a plug and play LED made by Cyclops Adventure Motorsports.
