Only been in for a few weeks, and I don't use the hi beam much (not needed) but it doesn't seem like it will be an issue.

Well it shit the bed on me. I think my issue is where I spliced and soldered the high voltage output after a failed attempt to extend the lines. I lost it while 45 minutes away from home and 60 minutes away from dark on memorial day with nothing but sunglasses. Ordering a new kit and the PROPER extension cables.

End result was that I could buy a ballast from them for $22.50, and $22 shipping and have it in a week. Or, I could buy a new kit for $65 shipped and wait for it to get here from china, most likely not before The Dragon. So, I ordered a dual bulb/hid kit from Amazon, next day shipping for $70 and I already have the harness that I can split the cost with a friend. I'm quite disappointed in DDMTuning. Yes, I acknowledge that needing to replace the ballast is my fault, but them wanting $22 to ship me a new one from US/Cali inventory is ridiculous. And they wouldn't let me buy a whole kit from US/Cali inventory at all. I HAD to get it shipped from China.

So MY PERSONAL recommendation is do not buy from DDMTuning based on the faulty harness, and poor customer service.

SON OF A BITCH.

Well. The new HID kit came. Plugged in the new ballast... NOTHING. So I double checked everything. Went back from front to start. I was getting 12V where I needed it. The problem was as soon as the ballast tried to power up I went from 12V to 3V. BAD RELAY. So I bought a whole new kit for nothing. But in the end, it helped me to find the problem. Upon closer inspection of the relay, it wasn't sealed and had filled up with water, causing the short.

And it still doesn't change their customer service.

Thought I'd add to this thread. I put the ballast on the frame under the tank, and the relay sits next to the linked brake block near the neck. The 55W kit puts out an astounding amount of light:

Totally worth the price of admission.

Just wondering if this was the brand that was the raffle gift at the dragon meet-up? Mine went tits up after a few weeks of riding. Had to ride home 40 miles on the highway without a light. I am not sure if I even still have it, was just wondering who made the model I had so I won't buy another one from that company.

I think the brand from the meetup was DDM, and that is what I have. They are recommended on the boards for every bike, quad, car, & truck for function & longevity (except for their customer service, which sucks).

As a side note, DDM is the OEM for HID lead lights used in several cars that come quipped with them, including BMWs.
