Nah, never even mentioned it. I wasn't going to complain since it was a gift anyways. I just went back to an h4 bulb when I got home. I still have the kit I think somewhere, but I just basically took it out my bucket and threw it somewhere. It's collecting dust somewhere. I just thought I would mention it as reading this thread, I thought it was probably the same manufacturer. Makes me think they are cheap, but then again it sounds like from pyro's post they are the ones to go to. I carry a spare H4 bulb in my saddlebag now. If I go back to HID I'll keep a H4 for backup with me at all times.

I never felt so invisible as riding down i-75 at midnight without a headlamp. I just kept trying to stay in the tracks of other cars. If they swerved there was probably something in the road. I just kept praying I didn't hit something, because I sure as hell wasn't going to see.

Cheese started with DDM Tuning, but he feel victim to their customer service and then resorted to ordering from ebay, so your unit could have been from ebay and not DDM. I've had mine over two years and never had a single problem.

I gotta add - you've got a pair of 12 pound balls hanging to cruise 75 at night without a bulb. Damn.

Crazy bastard.

i got mine straight from DDM. it was originally ordered for the X but i never installed it. turned out that it was the same H3 bulb in both my Glide & the X so i placed it in my Glide. i got the 55w, 5k, with hi/lo. they are awesome at night.

Did any of you have to change lenses to get the desired effect from your HID?

I'm sure none of us changed lenses. Just run the hot line from the battery, find places for the ballast & relay, swap out the bulb and hook everything up. I have the same kit as Woody, with the larger 55W ballast and a 5K bulb for great, usable, WHITE light. If you want to look like a high school kid with a lowered civic you can order with an 8 or 10 or 12k bulb and have blue or purple light.

If anyone out there is all offended because they have a stylish blue light, so sorry... Feel free to get on me for my LED set up. I just don't get losing visibility and having blue headlights.

i usually run 4300k HID kits from ebay with no problems, you just have to make sure you're getting a proper ballast or make sure it says AC ballast wich wont flicker or change colors. most ebay sellers use a DC ballast which are cheap and dont last or cause more problems. i'm currently running a 3000k bulb on my vlx with a yellow lens just to be different LOL. and i think i paid around 25 bucks for a single bulb kit.

I still haven't done it yet, but plan on running a 6000k HID, I have a PIAA halogen bulb right now that runs 4100k and while it's brighter than stock for sure, still isn't bright enough..... I've got a 6000k system in my truck and Its really bright but not blue, gives off a titanium bright white light. It's a perfect happy-medium between yellow and blue light
