better late than never :P

Unfortunately.. my Shadow is a paperweight right now.. I haven't touched it in more than 4 months, and it can't be registered in California for another 3 years unless I want to pay a ton of Bullshit fees.. So It's going to sit as it is, until next summer when I'm moving to Virginia.. I'll register it there instead.

Well now that I've got a place to live and regular interweb access (yay!) I'm back with my 85 vt700 in tow. I know Razor and Danteisme are around here somewhere with the same bike. I'll have some new pics of my scoot up in my build thread in a day or two.

As I see it, the main reason why this section is so dead is the same reason your scoot is a paperweight. There isn't enough interest in keeping older Shadows running, so most of them are in junkyards. The rest are too pussy to hang on this board. Now that winter is coming, we'll probably see a couple more dribble in, but not as many as the other sub-forums.

yeah i suspect you're right.. everyone gets newer bikes so they don't have to deal with our headaches..

almost makes it more enticing to keep older shit, just to be that guy who has the ancient POS that no one else has the guts to tackle :P

That's a large part of why I put so much effort into keeping mine operational. When some Harley poster boy on the street sees my scoot and does a double take when he sees the crankcase cover, I know that it's worth it

I love my 28 year old, 4,693 orig. mile challenge. Even if I bought another bike I will never get rid of my VT500. I've got some more heart and soul to put in her. not bad for 300. bucks.
