Rear Tire for VTX

Anyone running a Metzler ME880 Marathon on their X? My FIL needs a new rear tire and the Metzler is cheaper and the shop tells me it rides better.

I'm running metz's on my X. Got a 200 in back. Wouldn't ride with any other brand.

I'm running the ME880 on my VTX and my wifes Vulcan 900. Ride and handle nice.
Will replace them with the same when the time comes.

Pirelli and Metzler are the same company. The NightDragon is a dual compound with the edges a softer compound. I am running the 200/55-18 on the Spirit with not issues on dry pavement. Maybe it is lack of confidence after high siding in the rain last year but, that said, seems okay on wet pavement in the twisties here in Germany.

Had the Dunlop 200 on the rear when I wrecked. I will never run them again!

I have got to replace the front tire soon so I have been reading up a bit on tires. Hope this little bit helps.

Running the ME880 200 on my VTX conversion on my VT750DC wouldn't have it any other way. Bald if your needing a ME880 I have a 15" 180 on a 3.5 rim, it has about 1,100 miles on it. Your welcome to it, just pay shipping, or I could meet you half way, say Ashville and, you know the rest........

mind you its not a VTX but i was rock'n the Metz me880 (200/70/15)with the VTX rim swap on my spirit 750 liked it , thought i'try out the VEE Rubber tire in the same size , i like it a lil better than the metz handles a lil better on wet roads and @ hiway speeds ..
it is a touch taller and wider than the metz (like going from levis to wranglers) , my bike is lowered significantly lower than stock in the rear so i needed stiffer shocks but i love this tire , and its cheaper too .. Vee rubber 200/70/15 found mine on ebay
not same seller but same tire

Just Twist it and enjoy the ride
