The last one looks like it has an Ultimate X "lo-boy" seat, too. Good deal there, as that seat is probably in the $750 range (new) and replacing the factory one is a must from everything I have heard.

Drilled stock exhaust (1" holesaw)
Uni PK-82 pod filters
DynoJet Stage 1 jet kit - 130/132 mains
Scootmods forwards
Saddlemen Profiler seat
38T sprocket
4* timing mod
EBC CSK28 clutch springs

Steve keep in mind, any 1300 that is an 03 has a fuel pump. 04 and up is gravity fed. Just another thing to consider.

Thanks Neal....that is good to know.

Would not have known that about the seat either.

There's been later models with low mileage that have been on CL for under $5k. I've been looking for awhile now.

both X's are very good bikes, the 1800 is a beast of a bike with tons of power. i dont know how the handling feels on it because i have never riden the 1800's. the 1300's handle pretty good, as long as the neck bearings dont wear out. then you will have to spend about 40 bucks for new ones & a few hours changing them out.

as far as the Road King, dont know how it feels either because i've never ridden it. but if it has the 96in engine on it then i know it has tons of power, because my Glide has the 96 & it will scream. when we go on long rides i'm usually cruising between 80 & 90 like its nothing. i know its alot of money but if you can find 0n 05 or 06 Road Glide or Street Glide for a good price you wont regret it.

dont get me wrong i'm not trying to pursuade you to buy an HD because all the bikes you mentioned are great bikes, but i have no regrets trading of my X for my SG. if my X handled like my Glide i would probably still have it.

My Brother-in-laws 2011 RK classic rode like a dream. They started putting the 96 engine on the SG in 2007 but I'm sure I could get away the 88 but talk about a bike holding it's value...most I have seen on CL if they don't have high mileage (above 40K) then even the earlier models are starting at $15k. HD came out with the new chassis, wider tires and a bunch of other key features on the RK and SG in 2009 but I can get a nice X for less than a third of the cost for those later year models.

I sat on the SG and it was comfortable, liked the fairing but for most of the riding I do is back mountain rodes and I like the idea of being able to ride without a shield. But then again I am hoping to keep the SS. But I know I need a bigger bike for longer hauls. It will probably be the 1300 unless I see a steal on an earleir model RK over the winter.
