Let me start off by saying that this is not a slight against Scootmods and their very economically priced forward controls for our bikes. They fill an important niche and the only other options are priced stratospherically higher than their style of forwards. There are a couple of ebay sellers that do this type of forward as well as TC Bros. who do one with a cross piece similar to my modification shown here. I found that my forwards flexed too much especially with my new ISO pegs so I wanted to make them more rigid. I am not sure if my forwards are scootmods or not as I bought them second hand in the for sale section of another forum.
Lets get started: This mod is only for the ACE but you may be able to modify it for other versions of forwards. Here is what the basic kit looks like before installing on the bike:
Although not identical to mine, the mod will work on this type of forward. I added a cross brace between the left and right extension to increase rigidity.
