Oni, there aren't any at the moment. Imw working on a writeup, but I'm slacking something fierce too. Ill get some basics up soon as I can. But really just put ittogether til it looks right. Also pm baldeagle, he did something to get my clutch linkage to sit right.

Thanks, yesterday I was trying to install the shift side and the holes to attach to the frame don't line up right. Its about an 8th of a inch off, did anyone else run into this? I am thinking about just making the holes a bit bigger like the factory holes are ill try and post a photo. I can thread one bolt or the other in but not both with out cross threading the frame.

Edit: the holes on the right are the ones I am talking about.

Installed

Just got done installing the 6in mod, had to re-drill one hole on the shifter side plate to make it work (I used a 1/2in bit). Works and looks great.

Looks good thus far...now all you gotta do is cut off that stock shifter peg, drill a hole, and mount one of Scoots pegs to match the heel shifter

Working on something like that going to replace that heel shifter too, I don't like the color going to remove anything crome on the bike. Have a friend at a cnc shop working on it right now.

I just got done installing the scootmods 4" on my vlx, glad I didn't go with the 6". Not sure I'd be able to reach comfortably. 5'10" with a. 32 inseam. Love the feel of the extension, and it looks pretty badass as well. In hindsight I might have gone with the black to matche the frame, but the chrome looks good too. I'll add a pic when I'm not on the my pc later tonight. Or you can look in my gallery

As for instructions, 1 take off exhaust. 2 remove controls carefully noting the assembly. 3. Roll up your sleeves and figure it out.

If anyone has any questions, you can pm me and I will send you close up pics and try to walk you through it. Don' feel like taking it all apart to make instructions. I'd rather wait on froggy.

M8ne were 6" ext and you shouldn't have hadto drill anything. The 600's arepretty much mirror images of each other through all the years. Scoot designed these kits from scratch specifically for the vlx. I've not heard of anyone else having to drill. Baldeagle, modified the way I installed my shifter linkage, but that was about it.

Check that you don't have the left/right reversed. Also, that you don't have them flipped upside down. I had to flip mine after installing one when I realized the second one was upside down.
