I only know what I've done with a favorable outcome. I suspect the .142 would still work. Jets are cheap. I've got a few in each direction that I bought just to be safe in case I needed to dial it in...

Hell, there's a shop near my house that lets jets go for ~ $4/ea.

If you don't mind me asking scootgeek. Did you plug off the vacuum lines that were on the original air box. Just curious. Also is that a 35mm carb? So when I go to get a new filter I don't bumble f**k all over trying to figure it out. By the by, that's one bad ass bike you have.

STARTED mine tonight

Things I noticed and or agree with scootgeek.
When removing the tank make sure you turn the toggle to "off" the other options are fuel and reservoir I believe. I turned it off and removed it. No worries it has a "D" shaped fitting so its easy to get back on.

The hose connected to the tank isn't any ordinary hose so don't just go cutting it off. It has two different size ends and will set you back about $20 at your steelership, plus is probably a special order, so you will have to wait on shipping also.

I didn't find many problems with taking off or remembering where the hoses go (not my first time removing carb) but when it comes to the throttle cables just loosen the nuts right by the rubber covering them and they come out of the "C" type holders on the carb. This gives you the slack you need to work with. On the right side of the bike you will have to remove the idle control and choke from their brackets to move through to the other side.

After that its just unscrewing the radiator clamp closer to the carb and it should come off .

ScootGeek is very correct all the screw heads (phillips) are very soft!!! I had even had the bottom off once before and I stripped them out this time around. Now I am searching for replacements. I believe there is a post that has an allen wrench replacement. I also had to clip off 2 or 3 notches off the needle to get the its holder seated again.

ScootGeeks post is spot on I thought I would just add to it. BaldEagle had actually told me to rejett a different way but this kit was on the way so I have a feeling I might be doing it again because of my elevation and the fact I didn't change my slow/pilot jet.

Now all I wanna do is ride and I can't cause my bike is in pieces :-(

Need Help

I cant really figure out this whole forum thing but I need help. I recently just chopped my pipes to my 94 600 and removed the airbox and everything. Now I would like to know if I have to re-jet the carbs and if so to what size

I have a question i did this mod on my 2002 vlx however whenever i throttle it there is a nipple right next to the a/f screw is there supposed to be a hose on this nipple because there is fuel pouring out of the opening and i cant seem to find another nipple anywhere to direct the gas also it is not firing obviously because of this and... secondary question where does that hose go to any help at all would be greatly appreciated
