UPDATE!!!

I couldn't find a source that I trusted to get the Kijima filters for my TCU Build, so I ordered these (52mm Filter) and was hoping they would work or I could figure out a way to make them work...

Rebuilt the carbs today and reinstalled them today (unfortunately I am going to have to pull them off again to do the rejet, but trying to get the bike at least running as soon as possible). While doing the reinstall I decided to see if I could get the pods to fit. Good news, bad news, good news.

Good news-left side, clutch side fits perfect.
Bad news-right side, throttle side did not fit because the pet cock hit it when you put the tank on.
Good news-I was looking at it and brain storming and came up with an idea...

I pulled part of the snorkel off of the stock air box and put it on the right side carb and ran it up toward the radiator and mounted the pod filter to the end of it...PERFECT!!!

Jetting Information
Obviously there are some factors that you need to consider for your elevation and temps. I purchased my jet kit from www.CarbJetKits.com and used their Jetting Calculator which can be reached by clicking on link below:

CJK's worked with me to get the jetting correct for this project and this thread. They sent me main jets ranging from 125 to 145, slow jets at 45 and two shims for the stock needles. Kit cost less than $30...WOW!

My jetting ended up being 145 mains, two shims on the needles, slow jets of 45 with 1 1/4 to 1 1/2 turns on the a/f screw.

I'll update after the rejet to insure that the performance is the same.

Match the carbs...

You may want to consider putting the snorkel on the other carbs filter as well. Everything that I've read about dual carbs says keep them equal (air flow/fuel ect...). I saw someone else using those cone filters in a similar setup too. From what I've read, the most sucessful pod mod was using the stock intake runners (on both carbs). Something to do with the Pulses of the air coming in the carb when the intake valves open.

When/If you get it tuned good, please let us know the jets!

Found a source for the Velocity Stax, although they do not appear to be the same as the Kajimas, they may work just as well. If anyone buys them and uses them, please post an update;

Ooooo.... I like that build! very nice. With the carbs that is a good idea to try a 2 to 1 manifold, but...
who knows what it runs like at 60+MPH???
The thing is, at higher speeds it forces more air in and may throw off the mixture. When I had my humungous jets and pods on, it ran fine idling, and even ran great when whipping the throttle, BUT get on and ride and different story... Still I think it's a good idea to try.

AND

I like the looks of those very small funnels. They don't have any filter element though, just the screen. They look nice and like they might fit well under the tank. Have we confirmed that they are the right size to fit right on the carb? Also, being in the US makes me feel much better about possibly placing an order for them soon. Thanks for posting that link!

AND

I'm gonna need new pipes sometime soon, so I was thinking of just adding some Air/Fuel mixture bungs right at the head of the pipes (on my old ones), and get a couple A/F guages mounted to test at any RPM/Speed (not on dyno, with air actually moving over the filters). Has anyone else tried this? Anyone seen a pair of mini A/F mixture guages? Comments/questions?...

Bike is parked now due to cold, but my butt is starting to itch for the the knees in the breeze!
LATER!
