Here is my cosmetic recreation on my aero 750. Its unfortunate that i cannot modify the frame. Corruption bans me to do that here in Turkey.
Anyways so I decided to go with the consmetics only.
A late photo of the machine before going custom is here.
I didn't really follow up the process taking pictures but i have some inbetween so here they are.
I always adored the bobtail rear fender that harley has - not the ones on old shadows or the sport vstars. So went down the shop and purchased a bobtail rear fender. One problem, it was not as wide as it needed to be so I went on welding a strip of steel in the middle, expanding it to width I needed.
Took the inner bracket for the oem front fender and put it above the new sport fender. a few milimeters of distance between the bracket and the fender, with the two color combination it went exactly as I wanted. I forgot to take a detailed pic of it so more pics to be up - you can barely see it in the final pics though.
I hated that shitty turn signals extending outta fenders or front end so I started working on the rear taillight that has all the lights in a ray.
front turn signals would be with red idle - amber blinking on the handlebar.
Then I went sketching some for the painting. Made the masking with my friend painter.
In general I decided to go without chromes to have a nice, opaque look and wanted to have contrast among body parts and to-be-ex chrome parts. I chose a lighter color combination on body parts and brushed aluminum textured - matte black on chromes.
Cool but had to put something special on the painting - see the final pics
Painting the parts was almost done but need a seat. Going with a solo spring seat...
Yea I know it looks a bit like crossbones... Well i didnt mean to go that way but I realized that it did look that way after starting the project. Anyway I already loved how crossbones looked so thats cool.
Putting everything on and stuff, I couldnt wait to ride my bike after waiting for almost 2 months without it. I've just taken it outta garage and ridden all day long. Eyes on it!
I'm replacing the mirrors and stuff... Have little things to do like wrapping the pipes with beige wraps etc for tonight..
But here is how it looks now!
