Flasher cacked on a 600km ride last weekend... Dealer #1 wanted $100 and said I should use the stock one because it may have a special circuit board in it, dealer #2 wanted $73 and told me an automotive relay might blow something upstream... What?? like a fuse? LOL. I heard there is a generic flasher unit that even comes with the correct plug but after 3 auto parts stores the only one I could find with that plug was online and I didn't have time to wait for it to ship. I went and found the cheapest, smallest the 3 prong electronic flasher unit I could find and made it work. Grabbed 3 crimp on female spade connectors and then cut up the stock signal relay up to scavenge the plug. Used the stock plug and new spade connected to make a pigtail plug in adapter without cutting into the harness.....And guess what, it works and nothing blew up....LOL. The automotive relay cost me about $14 but can be found for as little as $10 if you have time to do some looking.
Here is the relay I chose...any 3 prong will do
This is all I used from the stock relay
