I thought about one of those biltwell pads but came to the same conclusions you have... Also my seat is brown leather and they don't offer that for some reason!! I'm looking to get a buddy of mine make me a detachable seat and backrest to attach to the sissy bar and fender instead

I'm wondering if I soak it in water than wrap it to a pole or something if the leather would reshape at all. I hate to ruin it though if it doesnt work. Its brand new so I could sell it but I would really like to use it somehow

I'd say go for it man. That's the fun of chopping these things up is trying things and making them work. Bike looks great so far!

I thought of an idea the other day. I think I may try making a metal plate cut to match the leather around the seat, bend it to match the fender, paint it black like the fender and use it to force it into shape. Basically pinch the leather between the fender and bracket.

I would use a lot of leather conditioner on it too and some low heat.

Didn't get much done for a few weeks. One of my best friends wife's who was a great friend was killed in a motorcycle accident. It's been tough to get out to the garage to get into anything.

I did get everything painted (rattle can) this weekend and started wiring everything up. Got the bike started last night with no issues. Only thing left to do is assemble everything and wire up the tail/turn lights. Ive heard a lot of guys running the wire up the inside of the fender with the aluminum duct repair tape. Planning to give that a try. Here are some pics

got it on the road for a test drive (around the neighborhood). Still have some kinks to work out

1. Right turn signal in the rear isnt working
2. Brake like doesnt change much when brake is pressed, thinking i have the brake and running like switched?
3. Throttle cable needs tightened
4. touch up a few spots of paint

Installed some mini switches late in the summer and started work on mounting a peanut tank the other day. Currently have the bottom cut out and planning to start the fab work Thursday. Also planning to powder coat some front end parts shortly.

I'd also like to get rid of the speedo but don't want to be hassled in PA. Anyone get hassled when removing the speedo?

Finally painted the tank. Used rattle can paint from a local automotive paint supply store. My first attempt at a real paint job. The clear has a hardener in it so it should hopefully hold up to gas spills. Dont know shit about painting, the entire thing had a terrible orange peel once it cured, was super smooth when first painted. Had to wet sand and polish the shit out of it by hand
