Yes please don't use hammer MODE.. also why can't you take the bike in the Kitchen out of the Rain. and do the mod there.. I bought some cutting oil from Home Depot a qt for about 2 bucks well worth it.. Use a drill with speed control or one thatturns about 600 rpm and like they say take it Slooow...and easy. Good Luck ..

Rejet required?

This mod requires a stage 1 carb rejet, correct?

Jack,

Unless you put in a high-perf air filter like a K+N or Uni Filter you should be able to just open the mix screws a bit and be fine without the rejet. Most pipes don't need a rejet if the head pipes are the standard 1.75" size your bike came packaged with and you use the stock air filter.

Did it

Just did this easy mod yesterday and it KICKS ASS! Now my girlfriend can't punk me at stoplights with her V&H pipes. Bwahahahaha!!!!

I haven't messed with the mixture screws. I took the bike out and test drove it. It doesn't pop a bit even on hard decel down steep hills. Rode it over 75 miles today with no problems, either.

Should I just leave well enough alone?

Fuckoff NOOB to both of us I guess HAHA!

I didn't touch the mix screws yet since there's no popping (lean condition indication) while riding. The forum with the holesaw mod here on Shadowriders has instructions for adjusting the screws if you want to do so.
