I just saw and read this thread, Martin. That was a great story, and you really do have a way with words! I don't envy that trip home of yours, though!

Great read Martin! Cross country is what I'd like to try sometime but not with the wife's current health issues (if ever). I did, however, spend three and a half months riding from Brunswick, GA to Hollywierd, Fl and back every weekend while I was in the Customs Academy at FLETC. Even if you DO prepare for South Florida weather it's only a precaution as the storms can read your mind! A lot of it was evening and night driving which included, among other things, bugs the size of Christmas cheese balls and ingesting so much NoDoz that even my scalp felt like it was going to crawl out of my helmet! if you have any more tales PLEASE post 'em up!!!!!
